(ATTOCK)      Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) has publicly announced to contest the General Elections of National and Provincial Assembly scheduled next year. CPP also invited applications till 30th November from the party workers, socialists, laborers, peasants, women, students, downtrodden, poor masses and middle class persons at the Communist Party Secretariat, 1426-Fateh Jang Road, Attock Cantt, who are interested to contest the elections.

Central Chairman, Engineer Jameel Ahmad Malik of the Communist Party of Pakistan would contest the election of National Assembly from the two constituencies, one of his native hometown Attock and other from Wah-Taxila. Engineer Jameel was the Ex-President of POFs Officers Association and former Secretary General of Abdalians Association, says the press release issued by Central General Secretary Dr. Bashir Hussain Shah of CPP.

He further said that in the party seventh congress held in Hyderabad in 2001, it was decided by the congress to abandon the policy of arms struggle and adopted democratic norms, yet the CPP in 2002 and 2008 boycotted the Elections and could not registered the Party with ECP as during that period the country was unlawfully ruled by the dictator General Musharraf and partial Election Commission was functioning.

But as and when, the independent and neutral election commission is now functioning under the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Fakhar-ud-din G. Ebrahim and democracy has also been restored and functioning under the chosen representatives and there is no military rule, the Central Committee of CPP decided to contest the General Elections of 2013 and to register the party with the Election Commission, which was accepted by the Election Commission.

Our party is thankful to the whole neutral and independent Election Commission for such a kind gesture of registering our communist party with the election commission of Pakistan.
