General Zia era was the darkest one in our history says the Communist Party!

On July 5, 1977 the military dictator General Zia-ul-Haq overthrown the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) regime of Premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and hanged Bhutto but surprisingly the daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his party allowed all those political persons in PPP who were strong supporters of Zia dictator and were in league with Zia for hanging of Bhutto.

The political workers of PPP, who vigorously fought with the dictatorial regime of Zia were totally ignored by the central leadership of the PPP subsequently.

Communist Party is the only political party in Pakistan who has opposed all the fours Martial Law imposed by the military Generals Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf whereas all other parties supported Martial Law on one pretext or the other.

Our party Ex-General Secretary Hasan Nasir was tortured and murdered in Jail by General Ayub in 1962 and our next Ex-General Secretary Jam Saqi remained more than ten years long imprisonment by General Zia-ul-Haq from 1975 to 1987. Likewise young Comrade Nazir Abbasi, a Central Committee member of CPP and others were also tortured and murdered by General Zia during its military regimes.

Zia-ul-Haq time period was the worst and darkest era of Pakistan and all the problems which our nation is facing today is the result of Zia-ul-Haq Martial Law.

Even today, unfortunately, our rulers and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and all now in PMLN are the legacy and product of Zia-ul-Haq.

Communist Party of Pakistan and its Chairman Engineer Ahmad Malik said that the problems of the peoples of Pakistan would be solving only when the peoples would get freedom from all the supporters of the four dictators namely Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf.
